From the medieval interval, the fulling of cloth usually was undertaken in a water mill, acknowledged as a fulling mill, a walk mill, or a tuck mill. Diese Methode wird bei zentralasiatischen Steppenvölkern noch heutzutage angewandt, indem große Rollen aus Filz von Pferden herumgeschleppt werden.
